Barbet News (page 30)
A couple of notable forthcoming events for you diaries, where barbets will be in attendance
Piotr Piotrowski with his
barbets and falcon.
The Falconry Festival (11th July)
We will be attending the International Festival of Falconry on Saturday the 11th of July. The event, held at the Englefield Estate just outside Reading in Berkshire, features falconers from all over the world. The festival includes camps set up by some of the different and diverse nationalities represented, and covers all aspects of falconry and its history. The barbet`s long hunting history extends to before the gun was invented and it is entirely appropriate to see it in the context of falconers and archers. Of interest to UK barbet owners is the attendance of Piotr Piotrowski who breeds and hunts with his barbets in his native Poland (see links page). Sadly Piotr will not be able to bring any of his dogs but we hope to gain from his wealth of experience, if we can find a translator! For further details of the festival please visit the event website at www.falconryfestival.com
The CLA Game Fair (24-26 July)

The event is this year being held at Belvoir Castle near Grantham, Leicestershire from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th July . The barbet will have a stand in the `Sporting Dogs Pavillion` and dogs and owners will be on hand throughout each day to answer questions and give advice on all aspects of barbet ownership.
